GROUNDBREAKING CEREMONY

The Salesian Sacred Heart Makeni Community in the ZMB Vice Province marked a moment of joy and thanksgiving with the groundbreaking and blessing of the Don Bosco Higher Learning Institute which will be dedicated to the formation and accompaniment of young people from within and around the Province. Presiding over the occasion was the regional superior Fr. Innocent Bizimana, and  the Provincial superior Fr Michael Mbandama who expressed deep appreciation to all who made the this dream possible, especially benefactors whose generosity continues to sustain the Salesian mission. In his remarks, he thanked Fr. Innocent for his dedication and leadership, and entrusted the future of the Centre to God’s providence. “We pray that this may truly be a centre of formation and hope for young people,” the Provincial said, emphasizing the Salesian commitment to nurturing not only skills and knowledge, but also faith, values, and dignity among the youth. The gathering was also a call to prayer for benefactors, past and present, who support the mission often behind the scenes. The Provincial encouraged the Makeni community to remember them in prayer, asking that God bless them abundantly for their generosity and selflessness. In his concluding remarks he said, “This work is meant to be of service and for the glory of God.”
